A New Way to Experience Beaver’s History

Help bring Fort McIntosh back to life through an immersive virtual reality exhibit.

Using historical research, 3D modeling, and game technology, a team of local volunteers is recreating Fort McIntosh as it may have appeared during the Revolutionary War. Museum visitors will be able to walk through the fort in virtual reality (VR), explore its buildings, and meet digital characters who help tell the story of life on the frontier.

This digital reconstruction is designed to make local history more engaging and accessible for people of all ages.

Powered by Local Volunteers
The Fort McIntosh digital reconstruction is being created by Immersive Beaver, a volunteer-led team of engineers, artists, historians, educators, and technology professionals who are donating their time and expertise to help small museums tell big stories. Together, they’re combining historical research with modern technology to create immersive experiences that inspire curiosity and bring local history to life.

Interested in joining the team? Immersive Beaver welcomes software developers, digital artists, researchers, grant writers, educators, and others who want to use their talents to preserve and share Beaver’s history.
