Plan Your Visit or School Field Trip
The Beaver Area Heritage Foundation oversees three major historical sites that are a “must see”, providing outstanding overview of the people, places and events that have shaped our community. These include the award-winning heritage museum, log house and restored site of Fort McIntosh, which are perfect for visits by individuals and groups, especially school field trips. Tours can be self-led, or directed by costumed docents.
Many groups use the log house and museum grounds for weddings, corporate events and class reunions.

| Driving Directions – From Pittsburgh and the Airport | |

From downtown Pittsburgh, with spring construction, it’s about a 45-minute drive to Beaver on Route 60 North (also called the Beaver Valley Expressway) |

As you cross the blue Vanport Bridge over the Ohio River, watch for signs to Beaver-Route 68 East (Exit #13-A). |

Take Exit #13-A. At the end of the ramp will be a stop sign. |

Proceed past the stop sign. You will now be on Route 68 East, also known as Third Street. |

From the exit, drive about two miles, past the new Courthouse and through the heart of Beaver, until reaching a stop light at Beaver Street where Citizens Bank will be on your left, and a BP gasoline station on the right. |

Turn right onto Beaver Street. Drive one block, and turn left onto East Second Street, about 30 yards before the stop sign. |

Continue straight for three blocks to a dead end. The museum and log house will be straight ahead, on the right, on East End Avenue, in a renovated railroad freight station. |

From Pittsburgh on Route 65 (Ohio River Boulevard)

From downtown Pittsburgh, it’s about a 50-minute drive to Beaver on Route 65. |

As you approach the vicinity of Beaver, watch for signs to “Route 68 West-Beaver” |

Bear right onto the Route 68-West exit. Watch closely as this can sneak up on you. |

>
|
Proceed across the bridge over the Beaver River. |

|
At the end of the bridge, take the first exit, which will lead you into Beaver. |

As you cross under the railroad underpass, watch for East End Avenue on the left. Turn left onto East End. |

Proceed along this brick-lined street until you see the museum and log house on the left. The museum is in a renovated railroad freight station. |
