“His Pictures Told Our Stories”

A Profile of Award-Winning Beaver County Times Photographer Pete Sabella, presented by his family.

In the days before the internet and Facebook, print newspapers provided the day’s news, and professional photographers were an essential part of any news organization. The premier local newspaper was the Beaver County Times, located on Fair Avenue in Bridgewater. Pete Sabella made a storied photography career there, shooting the photos that told our stories, and achieving state and national recognition for his excellent and prolific body of work.

Pete’s family members will discuss his unlikely start as a photographer; the famous and infamous citizens of our county and region he met and photographed; and the amazing, sometimes dangerous Beaver County history he witnessed and recorded for us all. His award-winning work will also be on display. Refreshments will be provided.
